An appeal against Broadland District Council's decision to refuse a new housing scheme in Little Plumstead has been dismissed by the Planning Inspectorate.
Glavenhill Strategic Land lodged its appeal, following refusal by the council's Planning Committee in July 2018 to grant outline planning permission for 84 dwellings on land to the west of Salhouse Road in Little Plumstead.
The appeal was made under section 78 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.
Councillor Shaun Vincent, Leader of Broadland District Council and Member for Plumstead Ward (Great Plumstead, Little Plumstead & Thorpe End Garden Village), welcomed the decision. He said:
"I'm delighted that the appeal has been dismissed and that the Planning Inspector took into account our concerns, which contributed to his assessment that this is not a suitable location for large scale development."
