The people of Rackheath and Salhouse turned out yesterday (July 19) to vote 'yes' to Neighbourhood Plans which will help shape their future.
An overwhelming majority of 92% in Salhouse and 83% in Rackheath voted in favour.
Cllr Shaun Vincent, Broadland District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Planning, explained: “Now the plans have been accepted they have to be taken into account when planning applications are considered by the district council.”
The plans are the result of an extensive period of research and consultation with the communities. In the case of Salhouse Parish Council, since they started the process in 2014. Rackheath Parish Council appointed a consultant to help create their plan in 2015 and had been consulting since.
These decisions bring the total number of accepted plans across Broadland communities to 10.
