Electrical reycycling

Published: Tuesday, 28th March 2017

With the arrival of the spring cleaning season, there’s no better time to clear out your cupboards and get rid of your unwanted household electrical and electronic items.

Drop off your old electrical items for free at Broadland District Council’s collection point on Saturday 1 April from 8.30am to 12.30pm in the council office car park, 1 Yarmouth Road, NR7 0DU (get directions).

All items collected on the day will be taken away to be recycled or reused. Any item which is suitable for reuse will be donated to the British Heart Foundation to be sold in their shops and broken items will be stripped of their parts for recycling.

Items which can be accepted at the drop off point include any small appliance which uses a plug or a battery. This could include game consoles, laptops, kettles, TV and computer screens and mobile phones.

Larger appliances such as fridges or washing machines are not able to be collected at the drop off point.

This recycling event is being held in partnership with Broadland District Council, Norwich City Council and the British Heart Foundation.
