Let us know about your event

If you are planning to hold an event which involves a large gathering of people, we will need to know about it as soon as possible. You should notify us as soon as possible and you don't need to wait until the details are finalised.

The details of your event will be circulated round the members of the The Safety Advisory Group (SAG). Advice can then be given or, if necessary, a SAG meeting can be arranged.

The role of the SAG is to provide advice and assistance to you when you organise an event. The aim is to ensure that events run as smoothly as possible and that all the relevant authorities are aware that the event is taking place. This will help you be fully prepared and help you to stage a well-planned, safe and enjoyable event.

The group is made up of representatives from various organisations and authorities including the Police, the Fire Service, NHS, Highways, Pollution Control, Health and Safety and Licensing. The group meets regularly to consider forthcoming events and to give advice to organisers.

Please complete the event notification form and return it to us using the contact details below.

You can read further information on SAG and on holding events and visit the Purple Guide website for more details.

We can also help promote some events - please contact our Communications team using the details below.
