Our Licensing Policy

We are a licensing authority under the Licensing Act 2003. We are responsible for granting premises licences, club premises certificates, temporary event notices and personal licences in the Broadland District in respect of the sale and/or supply of alcohol and the provision of regulated entertainment and late night refreshment.

This policy sets out the manner in which applications for licences, which are required by the Licensing Act 2003, will be considered by us.

Under the Licensing Act 2003 all Councils throughout England and Wales are required to review their Licensing Policy every five years. Broadland’s current Policy will expire on 7 January 2021. We have therefore carried out a review of our Policy document, including completing a public consultation exercise.  The reviewed Policy document was approved and adopted at a meeting of the Council on 19 November 2020.  The new Policy will take effect on 7 January 2021.
