Licence for looking after dogs in your own home

The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018 came into force on 1 October 2018. These regulations impact the way animal premises are licensed.

The regulations apply to animal licensed premises and activities, to include: pet shops; kennels and catteries; home boarders; dog day care; exhibition animals; and riding establishments. Under the new legislation, premises will be inspected against a set of conditions and will be awarded a rating, up to a maximum of 5 stars.
