Check if a tree has a preservation order

Before you or anyone else carries out works on a tree it is important to check if it is protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO). Trees are also protected if they are within a conservation area.

You will need to apply for permission to reshape any tree that is protected.

If you are buying a property, TPOs will be revealed on your Local Land Charges search.

Our register of Tree Preservation Orders is currently under review and is not yet made publicly available.  If you would like to check if a tree or woodland is protected, or if you have any other queries regarding trees in our area, please contact us using the details below.
