Council Tax Discretionary Relief

If you are struggling to pay your Council Tax for a property in Broadland you may be entitled to a one-off payment called a "Discretionary Relief". The scheme helps Council Tax payers in severe financial difficulty.

We would first check to see if you are entitled to any Council Tax Reduction, then we would consider if you require any further help. Each application will be viewed individually on its own merits.

Even if you are not entitled to Council Tax Reduction we would still consider your application to see if we can help you.

Applications must be made in writing. You can do this by downloading and completing the Council Tax Discretionary Relief application form and returning it to the Benefits team. Please provide as much evidence as possible to support the information you put on the form.

If you require any help with this form, please contact the Benefits team using the details below.
