How to deal with fly-tipping

Clearing up fly-tipping

Fly-tipping is the illegal dumping of waste. We have a duty to clear fly-tipping from the public highway and from land we own.

We do not remove fly-tipping that has been dumped on private land. This is the responsibility of the landowner. Private land includes:

  • farmland
  • forestry land
  • gardens
  • disused industrial sites
  • railways
  • shop car parks
