Creating postal addresses for properties

As a local authority it is our duty to create postal addresses for any residential or commercial properties within our district as part of our street naming and numbering service.

Once an address has been agreed and designated it is passed to Royal Mail to have a postcode assigned.  The address is held on a file until we are informed that the property has been completed or converted, at which point the address is released in full to utility and other companies.

It can take several months for sat navs, Google, Bing and other search engines to show new addresses in their systems and we have no control over this.

If you would like to obtain a property address or check if your new address has been released, please contact us using the details below.
