The Community at Heart Awards celebrate our community heroes; acknowledging the valuable contribution of volunteers, individuals, businesses or community groups and the work they do in the district. Awards could be presented for things such as running a sports club, hosting events, fundraising, or helping around the community.

This is the fifth year of the Community at Heart Awards, sponsored by Price Bailey. The awards ceremony will be held on the 29th October at The Space in Sprowston - venue sponsors for the awards.

  • Nominees must live or work in the Broadland Council District
  • Have been involved in the activity that they have been nominated for within the last 12 months

Award categories

Inspiration of the Year - a person who has achieved something great - personally or professionally and is an inspiration to others.

Young Person of the Year (aged 25 or under) - a young person who has made remarkable and inspirational achievements and has shown enthusiasm and positivity.

Sporting Achievement of the Year - a team or individual who reached a goal in sport and have been an excellent example of good sportsmanship.

Carer of the Year - a carer paid or unpaid, who a resident that Broadland could not do without.

Business Community Support of the Year - local business that has contributed to supporting community initiatives.

Safer Broadland Award - a person in your neighbourhood who makes everyone feel a little safer. Nominees can be paid or unpaid.

Environmental Champion of the Year - an individual, school, business or community group who has made an extra effort to make a positive impact on the environment.

Community Group of the Year - a community group that has made a significant contribution to the residents of their local area.

Volunteer of the Year - an individual who has volunteered their time to make an outstanding contribution to their community.

Good Neighbour or Friend of the Year - a person who has made a positive impact on someone’s life. Someone who has gone the extra mile to offer help in times of trouble or just in day to day life.
