senior rail card

Senior rail cards are available to men and women aged 60 or over and entitle the holder to a third off most rail fares on the National Rail Network.

If you live in the Broadland area, you can purchase a senior rail card from the council for just £22.50 instead of the standard price of £30.

We do not take cash payments for railcards - we only take cheque or credit/debit cards please. The accepted documents for proof of eligibility are a birth certificate, passport, driving licence and National Concessionary Travel Card.

what to do next...

  • Fill in our online senior rail card request form to receive an application form
  • Fill in and return the application form to us with proof of qualification (i.e. pension book, birth certificate)
  • The rail card will be issued in favour of the named person on the proof of qualification
  • Please note: If you are renewing an existing senior rail card, please make sure you put the number of your old card on the form. We only require proof of ID if you have never had a senior rail card before from Broadland District Council
