animal fouling
It is an offence to allow a dog to foul a public place, without clearing the mess up afterwards
The Council provides dog waste bins to encourage responsible dog ownership, to help keep public places clean and free from potential health risks. We have a responsibility to empty dog bins on the highway, footway, verges and on District Council owned land within Broadland.
The Council purchases bins in response to specific requests from Parish Council's. The installation of dog bins in a parish is then the responsibility of the Parish Council
Over 400 Bins are emptied on a weekly basis in Broadland and regularly cleaned. We hold information of where the bins are in our district.

further information
With the help of parish councils, dog waste bins have been sited at locations that are popular with dog walkers.
Signs are also displayed at various locations advising dog owners that failure to clean up after their dog has fouled is illegal and that they could be liable to a fine.
The Environmental Protection Team is responsible for the emptying and maintenance of bins within Broadland. The work is carried out by Veolia Environmental Services, the Council's contractor.
