Broadland Council formed a new Street Scene team to ensure that the district is ‘cleaner, safer, and greener’ in line with government policy. The team works closely with the Council’s cleansing contractors, Cleanaway Ltd to provide a cost effective and responsive service for Broadland residents.
The team responds to complaints of fly-tipping, littering and dog fouling and undertakes enforcement action on flytippers and other offenders. They also deal with the cleansing and maintenance of over 50 open spaces managed by the Council, the cleansing of public roads and verges and other council land across the district.
The Council spends over £6,000 per week sweeping the roads, litter picking and removing fly-tips.
