guestwick (towns and villages)
Guestwick is located four miles north-west of Reepham, some 18 miles from Norwich and is only 20 minutes from the coast.
The parish of Guestwick is made up of two small clusters of development, Guestwick itself, centred around St Peter's Church, and, to the south west, Guestwick Green. The remainder of the parish comprises a scattering of farms and isolated developments, benefiting from extensive views of the surrounding countryside. The community relies largely on Foulsham and Reepham for its facilities including.
historic guestwick
Guestwick was mentioned in the Domesday Book as 'Guistthwaithe' as an area of pasture land used by the people of Guist located three miles to the west. By the 11th century the settlement had its own church and so became independent.
The Old Station House in Guestwick belonged to the former Midland and Great Northern Railway which ran from Norwich to Sheringham on the North Norfolk Coast.

In the Early English style, St Peter's Church has an ancient square tower which originally formed part of an earlier edifice. Standing at the east end of the north aisle, the tower joins the chancel, which is built of Hunstanton stone.
guestwick chapel
The Guestwick Chapel was founded in 1652 and contains traces of a 1625 timber frame. It was extensively rebuilt in 1840, hence its appearance today. A former minister of the chapel was grandfather to Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein. The chapel, which can be found standing back from the road behind the St Peters Church, is now a private residence.
