The chance that you or a member of your family will be a victim of violent crime is low. Statistically you are still more likely to be subject of violence from someone you know than from a stranger on the street.
The best way to cut the fear - and risk - of attack is by taking sensible precautions. The same is true of fire safety and there are many actions you can take to reduce the risk to your home.
