housing initiatives
Broadland District Council works with housing associations and other organisations to provide affordable housing. Options include:
- Housing association rented properties
- Shared ownership (part buy, part rent)
- Discounted market sale
- Key Worker schemes
A guide to affordable housing is attached below. To be considered for these schemes you need to be in housing need (unable to afford a property on the open market) and on Broadland District Council's Common Housing Register.
In rural areas of the District, the Council works in partnership with parish councils to establish what the need for affordable housing locally is. For more information see the guide on providing affordable housing in rural parishes attached below

Broadland District Council is a part of The Greater Norwich Housing Market Assessment with Norwich and South Norfolk councils.
The scheme aims to understand how housing markets in the sub-region operate.
The assessment will help with the development of housing and planning policy in the Greater Norwich sub-region.
