Broadland is set to growbroadland is set to grow

Broadland is set to grow in order to provide homes for the people who want to live here.

The growth needed is 10,000 houses by 2026. These figures come from government targets based on the number of homes needed nationally and regionally to house a growing population.

    further information

We have accepted the levels of growth that the government has demanded as we can see the evidence that the homes are needed.

There is a shortfall of housing to meet the needs of our communities now. Broadland has over 3,200 households on our Housing Register and neighbouring councils have thousands more. There are over 16,800 households on the combined housing registers of Broadland, South Norfolk and Norwich.

We also know that we need to plan to build houses for the young people in our schools now, for when they reach maturity and need homes of their own.

This growth will be carefully planned and managed to ensure that it is in the right locations and that the facilities that residents need, such as roads and schools are provided.
