conservation areas
Conservation areas are areas of special architectural or historic interest that the Council intends to preserve and enhance.
Broadland is fortunate to have many conservation areas, often containing listed buildings. It is not always enough to protect these buildings in isolation. Their surroundings are of equal importance and conservation areas are intended to protect that environment.
Controls over development in a conservation area apply to: demolition, extensions, cladding, roofs, garden buildings, satellite dishes, works to trees.
