County and Local Authorities are ideally placed to assist the reduction of community carbon emissions via their role as community leaders. The Norfolk Climate Change Partnership is made up of representatives from each of the District Councils in Norfolk as well as the County Council. The Partnership will work with external organisations such as the Energy Saving Trust to establish strong links with our community groups to assist them to reduce their energy use or transport needs. It is vital that there is partnership working between the different regions as the climate-related changes that are being observed are not restricted by boundaries. A cause may happen in one area and affect another - so a thorough understanding of the various processes involved is necessary. For example; the majority of rain may fall in one district but the flooding may occur in another. The understanding and the subsequent management has to be a shared responsibility and for this to be a success partnership working is key.
"Tomorrow's Norfolk, Today's Challenge" is the full document compiled by the Norfolk Climate Change Partnership and outlines the climate issues that we are already experiencing and the ways we intend to tackle them over the coming few decades.
