emergency volunteer carrying child - many volunteer groups provide assistance during emergenciesemergencies

Emergencies have a dramatic effect on those involved. Individually or collectively you can take steps to make yourself, your home and your business safer and more able to cope with a crisis.

Broadland District Council is actively works with other councils, the 'blue light' agencies (fire, police, ambulance and coastguard), volunteer agencies and other organisations that respond during an emergency to make Broadland a safer place.

In time, we hope that Broadland will be covered by a network of Community Emergency Response Plans, each parish having planned their response to a crisis and increased volunteer capability in their area.

Many small and medium-sized businesses fail when confronted by a traumatic event. In todays challenging business environment, the ability to absorb a crisis and bounce back quickly is critical to survival. Business Continuity management is the process of developing this abilty.
