Council tax payments can be made at the Post Office by cash or cheque or in cash at a Pay Point using, a payment swipe card. There are no transaction charges for customers who pay by this method.
Pay Point's are typically located in convenience stores, supermarkets and petrol filling stations. You can find your nearest Pay Point by searching our online mapping service or by viewing the document attached below.
Swipe Cards are plastic cards about the size of a bankcard.
When using this method the card will be swiped directly into the computer system of the Post Office or Pay Point and you will receive a printed receipt. The payments are then remitted to the council through the banking system.
The cards should last between 3 and 5 years. They only contain your name and council tax account reference, no other personal information is retained on the card.
